Not give up yet

A couple of people have asked me if my blog is "dead". Well I've decided it shouldn't be.

I therefore went out to take a picture of autumn on Sunday and the battery went in my camera!

I do have a picture of early summer which I will download later when I have some time.

Thanks to Ed I for his contribution I will make a link on this blog when I have remembered how to do things.

There is much and little to say about my world. I have walked less, put on the weight I lost, have rearranged my furniture and bought some new stuff to replace the old and rather horrible bits I had. My cat christened the new carpet with regurgitated dinner last night and work has been very very busy.

More later but off to the dreaded workplace now.

The four seasons

No pictures today. It's a while since I blogged as I've been preoccupied with work.

So what's new?

I bought a PS3 but I haven't got any games for it - silly!

I finished my diet and lost the little bit of weight I wanted. So today I visited M & S for trousers that don't fall down without a belt (which I don't own). I do love shopping.

And I have not been walking much as I've been a little under the weather.

I hadn't intended for this blog to be about the changing weather or scenery (really wisht), but it does look as if that's what it's turning into.

On a sadder subject my husband may be losing his studio due to Arts Council cuts. He's upset and I'm worried I'm going to have to live with the smell of oil paints again!

I blame the Olympics!

Spring is here!

I've neglected my blog for a while.

The first picture is a "March" piccie taken with my phone.

Then last week I decided to buy a camera and lo!

Beautiful pictures.

Snow!

Isn't it lovely! You'd never think it was in the middle of an inner city!

Still ...

dieting although I haven't managed it alcohol free although I've cut down considerably. Water is now one of my best friends!

The food is delicious, I don't get hungry during the day, I feel energetic, I'm starting to wake up in the mornings without difficulty and I'm sure my trousers are a bit looser. It doesn't feel like a diet more a different way of eating, like going to live in another country and eating the food there.

I still walk everyday, but something tells me it's going to snow soon and that might put a halt to that. I do have some exercise steps which I can drag out if that happens but their boring and not much fun.

In spite of some bad weather recently the early mornings have been beautiful so I am posting two more pictures of my walks.

Walking

I restarted my early morning walks yesterday. From my flat to the woods and back is an hours walk with just over half of it in the wood itself. About half way there is a fallen bit of tree which has been carved in the form of ... well I'll post a picture (not the best quality).

And here is another picture of my woods.

And another

Dieting and detoxing

It's time I did something about my weight. It's not gross by any means but I've put on a stone more than I think I can carry. I'd like to drop a size from 14 to 12 round the middle.

So, I've got to get back to my walks. I am walking but sadly at work through musty court corridors and hard rain sodden pavements, and not in my lovely woods. The weather combined with dark mornings and dark evenings prevent me from walking, and even if they didn't I don't have the time at the moment.

I've bought a diet book which appeals to me as it's about eating meat and cream and butter often combined, nuts, vegetables and cheese. All these things I love with a passion.

I have to give up alcohol for two weeks which I won't enjoy and I might slip occasionally in that direction. I have to drink lots of water, and decaf tea (the decaf tea is OK though).

So tomorrow I start the regime although I tried a recipe tonight, strips of chicken from a breast piece, fried in butter and oil and parsley (it should have been tarragon but I couldn't buy it and don't like it much). Cream poured in after the chicken is browned and then some lemon juice and black pepper. Served up with steamed cauliflower blended with butter and cream (in a blender of course). I put a handful of mixed green leaves with it and it was wonderful! I did have a glass of white wine with it, but then the diet doesn't start properly till tomorrow. I can start the day with egg and bacon and mushroom, but no bread/toast.

And lots of water.

I am quite looking forward to this diet.

I have got it from http://www.penguin.co.uk/nf/Book/BookDisplay/0,,9780670916481,00.html

It's a good read actually.

So wish me luck!
